Michael Abendroth, MD, MBA
Dr. Abendroth joins Philadelphia Eye Associates after completing his residency at Wills Eye Hospital, where he was a Chief Resident. He specializes in comprehensive ophthalmology, cataract surgery, refractive surgery, and Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS). He also has a special interest in patient education, safety and quality improvement, and practice efficiency.
Dr. Abendroth was born in Boston and raised in Hershey, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Dartmouth College then earned his Doctor of Medicine and Master of Business Administration degrees from Penn State University, where he was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha and Beta Gamma Sigma honor societies. He completed his internship at MacNeal Hospital in Chicago, where he was awarded Intern of the Year, then joined Wills Eye Hospital. He has presented his research at national and international conferences and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
Dr. Abendroth is available to see patients at the South Broad Street and Wills Eye Hospital offices.
