Stacey L. Ackerman, M.D.
Dr. Stacey Ackerman completed her residency at the University of Pennsylvania -Scheie Eye Institute in 1985. She joined the Wills Eye Hospital Staff in 1986 and received her Board Certification in Ophthalmology in 1987, making her a fellow of the American Board of Ophthalmology.
She was born in 1955 in New York City. She completed a Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry at Cornell University. Her medical degree was obtained at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine. Also in Buffalo, she completed a year of Internal Medicine and began her ophthalmology training. Outside interests include golf and foreign travel. She speaks French.
She has been a Top Doc in SJ Magazine. In addition to patient care, she is very active in clinical research and a member of ARVO, a vision research organization. She and her partners have been instrumental in evaluating the safety and efficacy of many of the medications that are commonly available today.
After many years of providing superb care to her many patients, Dr Ackerman retired from Vantage Eye Care’s Philadlephia Eye Associates division in June of 2020. We wish her the very best going forward.
