Dr. Stacey Ackerman has been in private practice since 1985 after completing her residency at University of Pennsylvania-Scheie Eye Institute. She has been on the medical staff of Wills Eye Hospital since 1986 and Board Certified in ophthalmology since 1987. She was selected by her peers in the SJ Magazine Top Docs 2009 September issue. Dr. Ackerman, now a partner in Philadelphia Eye Associates, joined in 1997. She works at the New Jersey and Wills Eye Institute offices. In addition to expertise in comprehensive ophthalmology, she is very active in clinical research. She is also a member of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee at Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County, the American Academy of Ophthalmology and ARVO, a vision research organization.
She was born in 1955 in New York City. She completed a Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry at Cornell University. Her medical degree was obtained at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine. Also in Buffalo, she completed a year of Internal Medicine and began her ophthalmology training. Outside interests include golf, tennis and foreign travel. She speaks French.
